Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
At LWOBC, we believe that Evangelism is not an option to be observed, but a command to be obeyed. Jesus left us a clear command to go and make disciples of all nations. Every believer is required to share their faith, not just evangelists, pastors or missionaries. The task of Evangelism is so important that the Great Commission is included in the New Testament five different times, one in each of the gospels and one in the book of Acts. In Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47-49, John 20:21, and Acts 1:8, Jesus commissions us to go and tell the world the message of salvation.
Evangelism is the presentation of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit so that others may come to put their trust in God through Him, accepting him as their Savior and serving him as their Lord. Successful evangelism is simply sharing the Good News, and effective evangelism occurs only through the power of the Holy Spirit.
